Two out of the ten men who went into a dumpling restaurant in Kanazawa stark naked were arrested on Monday and charged with “forcible obstruction of a business” and “public indecency”. The two, managers of a “fashion health” store nearby, together with several of their colleagues walked in and sat at the food counter in Gyōza no Ōshō, where their pictures were taken and immediately went viral.
The incident several months ago and was allegedly part of an ad for their store, which is a fuzoku-en, or massage-style parlors, where customers can ask for legal sexual favors, or those that fall short of actually asking and selling intercourse. The two suspects claim that they actually had permission to be naked in the restaurant in order to have their pictures taken. No one alerted the authorities while the naked photo session was ongoing, but some of the customers took pictures as well, and so the restaurant managers were eventually alerted.
The store was eventually shut down indefinitely, and while the pictures on Facebook were also eventually taken down, it was too late, as the Internet never forgets, especially when it involves nudity in public. To add insult to injury, the store owners discovered during their investigation that one of their employees took a picture of himself being stuffed in the freezer with frozen gyoza, and it was uploaded on a social networking site as well. The reputation of the restaurant has also been damaged, which will probably lead to its permanent closure.
