If you suddenly realize that a lot of people are playing with their phones without actually playing with their phones, you only have to blame mobile phone accessory experts Strapya. They’ve released a new iPhone 5 bubble wrap case that will keep you entertained for hours, even when your phone isn’t actually turned on.
Aside from protecting your phone from the expected bumps and drops people normally subject them to, it also gives you row after row of endless bubbles for your popping pleasure. Devices with “puchi puchi” (the sound of bubbles popping) are popular in Japan (and we’d like to think elsewhere as well) with stuff from key rings to mobile phone straps, but this is probably the first time that the iPhone case will compete with the games on your phone for entertainment value. For just 2,100 yen ($22), you can encase your precious mobile phone with this casing that has four layers, that includes a soft and squidgy bubble layer, underlying push buttons, and a “sound layer” that makes that popping noise that people find weirdly fascinating (and satisfying for some).
And unlike the actual bubble wrap that eventually “dies” after you’ve pressed it to death, this one should last you forever, or until you get tired of it eventually. What’s even more fun? Watching this promotional video from Strapya showing a man getting his bubble on with his puchi puchi-ed iPhone 5.
