Lawson headquarters have decided to terminate a franchise location in Kamobe, Kochi Prefecture after photos of a young man inside the convenience store’s freezer have gone viral on the internet. Although the summer heat may be too much to bear, netizens who saw the photos did not tolerate the prank. The store was closed on Monday, and Lawson said that it will only re-open once a new franchise owner is found.
Spotted, 21-year old son of a franchise owner poses with some ice cream. The young man guilty of causing disgust to people, who have seen and heard of his act, was allegedly the son of the franchise owner. He was probably reading a lot of Marvel Comics or Bleach manga this summer and thought he could have cryokinesis ability like Iceman or Toshiro Hitsuyaga. The young man was off duty on June 17 and has asked a friend to capture his moments inside the ice cream freezer. The photos were posted on the internet the following day.
Though it took Lawson four weeks to finally close the store in Kamobe after the lad posed inside the ice cream freezer, the convenience chain was quick to remove the products inside the freezer as soon as the act was discovered. “As [a company] that handles food products, it is unacceptable and we are reflecting on the incident,” stated a Lawson official.
