The Internet forum dwellers of 2chan – Japan’s most famous (infamous?) message board – have come up with an idea for an app that would capture a person’s “kiss face”. We would bet a lot that it was men who came up with this, trying to capture what a woman’s face would look like when she’s about to kiss somebody. The funny thing is that Yahoo Japan’s app developers actually flesh out the idea and before you know it, the app was already listed for download on Google Play. Talk about ninja app skills.
The idea began with the people of 2ch, who were probably thinking of ways to eliminate waiting for a long time under the mistletoe so they could kiss that girl they were crushing on. Early this month, a forum dweller came up with an idea for an app – one where you could ask that certain girl to “blow out” a candle app on your smartphone. When the candle is blown out, the camera instantaneously – and silently – activates the camera and takes a picture of the girl in the act of blowing out the candle. Viola, you have a picture of her “kiss face”. We admit that this is some parts brilliant and some parts creepy – only the guys at 2ch could ever think up something like this.
The thread was trending so much, with fellow forum dwellers saying how brilliant the idea was, that it got featured on internet trend compilation sites. It also got featured on Yahoo Japan, and before you could say “kiss face”, the app was already available on Google Play for download – great ninja skills by Yahoo Japan there. Some netizens are actually saying that Yahoo Japan should pay the guy who had the idea, being that it was his brilliant mind that conceptualized it all. Still, you can go ahead and try out the app for yourself, see if it is worth the download.
