Just a few days after another memorable performance at the American Music Awards, pop superstar Lady Gaga arrived in Tokyo to promote her latest album, Artpop. In honor of her visit, Yahoo! Japan created a very special page just for her and her fans and it looks every bit as unique and weird as her well-documented outfits and antics.
She landed on Tuesday at the Narita International Airport, wearing a military-inspired outfit complete with her trademark platform boots and bizarre eyewear that made her look like an android. She greeted her fans at the airport in her Marilyn Monroe-esque hairstyle and strutted around the place like it was an avant-garde runway and even signed autographs for those who patiently waited for her. Before she left the U.S, she tweeted, “Getting ready to leave for Tokyo! I can’t hardly wait! *packing extra rhinestone* for Japanese little monsters here I come! Xx.”
As tribute to her promotional tour in Japan, Yahoo “Gaga-fied” the page dedicated to the pop singer, calling it the Yahoo! Japan Gagadoll page. The background is a collage of facts and quotes about her, of course in Japanese. The main feature of the page is an image of Lady Gaga wearing a white pantsuit and those platform boots once again, with her outfit containing images and texts and clickable links to articles and videos all about her. The Facebook and Twitter icons on her stiletto heels lead to their respective official Japan fan pages.
