Not one, but three Lady Gagas were spotted in Tokyo, as music player doppelgänger of the Paparazzi singer were unveiled on Thursday. Sporting long, sleek, blond hair and her trademark platform shoes – one that only she could walk in – the life-sized replicas are the very spitting image of her when she first broke into the music scene, singing Poker Face.
These unique music players allow listeners to hear some of Lady Gaga’s famous songs when they place their ear to the doll’s heart. Despite it seeming creepy and bulky to tote around, Universal Music Group thinks the singer’s fans will go bonkers over this new technology by Japanese tech-heads as it gives you the feeling of having the artist sing personally to you.
The singer posted a photo of her with the life-size dolls on her Twitter account as she has been recording the details of her trip to Japan on her social media accounts ever since she arrived in Tokyo on Monday. Known for her eccentric style and taste in clothing, Lady Gaga feels right at home in the streets of Tokyo, with its vibrant and funky style. Praising her Japanese fans, she said “Ahhh! I have to be the luckiest girl in the world. They really understand ARTPOP. The album is just meant to be fun with an air of the experimental. The art references are just part of the complete creative experience.”
