First time House of Representatives Member Takatane Kiuchi reveals his intention to leave the DPJ in his twitter account. Mr. Kiuchi discloses his disappointment with the current administration’s decision to raise the consumption tax without implementing the substantial administrative reform. He argues the tax increase is a bad one only to protect the vested interests.
Mr. Kiuchi plans to leave the party while some of his close associates are concerned with his decision. He belongs to the group of Former Party Leader Ichiro Ozawa who might encourage him to remain in the party to work together.
Before becoming a member of the House of Representative, Mr. Kiuchi has worked for UBS Investment Bank and Merrill Lynch in Japan.
