One would usually expect of nothing but burgers in a fast food chain like Burger King. And with the name itself, are we supposed to expect burger overload? However, three Burger King stores in Tokyo are now offering barbecue on their menu. If that is not new enough, they also have cocktails to pair with the grilled meat.
The select Burger King locations will be offering 30 barbecue/cocktail meals every day, or rather every night. The catch is, the offer is only available from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. It’s either you take it for dinner or for an early midnight meal. The Broiled BBQ Ribs cost 980 yen (approx. 10 US dollars). The meat is marinated with different spices like celery, cinnamon, pimento (allspice), and thyme. It’s also mixed with garlic, so fans of the bulb will appreciate it. Not pegging a stand-alone complex, the meal is served with onion rings grilled until its piquant aroma is mixed with just the right amount of burnt smell. Together with a cup of pickles, the meal is completed with a small serving of salad.
The cocktails available on the menu include Cuba Libre, Long Island Ice Tea, Mojito, Pink Daiquiri, and Sky Diving. Each cocktail costs 450 yen, or less than 5 dollars. If cocktails aren’t your alcoholic beverage of choice, Burger King still offers a Highball, which you can choose between Coca-Cola or Ginger-Ale, at 350 yen. A Heineken Beer is also available at 400 yen. Burger King’s limited-time offer will kick off tonight, just in time for the Rugby World Cup Sevens. Rugby fans can grab their choice of grilled meal before watching the opening game. Japan is about to face Scotland, so a Heineken would probably be the best choice for tonight.
