Toyota’s Prius recruits Star Wars’ R2-D2 and C-3PO to help sell in Japan

Let the force be with Toyota and their endeavor to nudge their plug-in Prius eco-friendly car to the top spot. Currently rated at the third spot, a step behind Nissan’s all-electric Leaf and Chevy Volt, the Prius is making news in Japan for its innovative commercial.

Enlisting the help of “Star Wars” droids R2-D2 and C-3PO, the droids are seen tanking up juice from the same plug that powers the Prius. You can hear the commentator in the background rattling of facts like the car’s total EPA range being 540 miles, overall efficiency of 50 mpg, and as much as 95 MPGe over the first 11 miles.
