Better start saving up for plane tickets Resident Evil fans, because if you really want to visit a zombie-infested Raccoon City in the next few months, you’re going to need to come to Japan. Well, Universal Studios Japan, that is. The theme park in Osaka has announced a collaboration with Biohazard (the name for the Resident Evil series in Japan) that will see the environment and characters from the best-selling zombie horror video game series brought to life.
As part of Universal Studios Japan’s Halloween Horror Nights event, the attraction will run from September 14th through November 11th. The theme park says it will be creating an environment of true immersion, and there will be many special effects and performances. The Gramercy Park area will be overrun by zombies and other recognizable monsters from the Resident Evil series from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM every day (the zombies set reminders on their iPhones). If visitors can survive long enough, they might even see appearances from heroes Jill Valentine or Claire Redfield.
Not enough zombie excitement? Then be sure to check out the walk-through attraction called Umbrella Corporation: T-virus Escape, which will put you in the middle of Raccoon City during the T-virus outbreak. You don’t need to bring any healing items, as the Resident Evil-inspired menu features staples from the video game series, like a “Mixed Herb Drink,” a “Birkin G” cocktail, and even some “T-virus Zombie Brain” pasta!
