Just because you’re trained to endure and thrive on pain doesn’t mean you still need to do so when you sleep. Introducing the next advancement in athletic equipment: mattresses for athletes. Sleep better, recover faster, get ready for the next day.
That’s the promise that Weava Japan is selling after it had supplied 150 Japanese athletes at the 2012 London Olympic games with their Airweave Portable Bed. The “airweave” comes from finely woven resin that creates a mattress that is neither too soft nor too hard for the athlete’s body. The bed has two sides: a soft side and a hard one. The hard side is to be used for sleeping when the athlete is undergoing rigorous training and athletes are instructed to stretch on that side before sleeping. The soft side, on the other hand, is to be used for sleeping during training time outs. As a bonus, the portable mattress is also washable, perfect for out of town trainings or competitions.
Weava Japan has introduced a My Recovery Mattress, also targeted for athletes. This mattress makes use of “Celliant” fibers which the company claims to be clinically proven to increase oxygen levels in the body. These fibers, the company promises, are perfect for improving sleep, reducing soreness, and inducing faster recovery in athletes.
